We are a French-Swedish couple who met during our studies at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland. Since then, we have continued our adventures together within tourism in many different countries, such as Switzerland, India and currently France.
We have always loved Brittany, and particularly the region of Finistère with its beautiful and wild nature. In 2018 we made the decision to explore the possibility to create a project in the region and gave ourselves the challenge to find a unique place that would allow us to create the we had in mind.
Helped by our friend Jean-Etienne Gourvès and his family, a local Breton who knows the region very well (Jean - Etienne himself being the founder of the beautiful boutique hotel Le Bateau Libre in Bénodet), we decided to embark on our adventure and leave Paris behind for a life in the countryside.
Chance was on our side one day in February 2019, when the ancient Presbytery of Plomeur had just gone out for sale by the Diocese of Quimper. We fell for this impressive building and beautiful garden during our very first visit, on a rainy day, and knew already then it would be the perfect location for the project we had in mind.
We were however very aware that we had a lot of work in front of us! Even if the building was in a decent state, it was very old and rundown on the inside and we knew this would be more work than we could ever have imagined! Helped by our friends and family, we decided to gather our forces, our contacts and our savings and begin the work in May 2019.
With their help, we expect to spend the whole summer of 2019 to renovate the building and fix up the garden of this big house and turn it into a gite in Brittany open for holiday rentals in the region close to the Pointe de La Torche throughout the year.
Le Presbytère in Plomeur will be a large holiday cottage in Brittany, located in the south of Finistere. The space will also be used to host private events and festivals.
We also live on site in an independent apartment with separate access. This makes us available for our guests should they need any assistance or help with the organisation of activities to discover the culture and gastronomy of the region amongst other fun things!
Hope to see you there!
